Bengali Muslims in Maungdaw attack Nasaka personnel

Bengladeshi Muslim immigrants in Maungdaw during their June 2012 terrorist attacks to local Rakhine people

Khine Myo Min, August 18, 2012: A group of Bengali Muslim immigrants in Maungdaw township attacked a Nasaka personnel and tried to take his gun at around 3.00 PM local time yesterday. The incident took place in U Dawn village near Alaethangyaw area of Maungdaw township. The opportunistic attackers tried to kill the officer when he was alone but he was luckily survived as other Nasaka personnel came to his rescue. The Bengali Muslims terrorists shouted "Quit Muslim land", "Devil Barma, leave your blood here", "Allahu Akaba", etc. during the attack, a local resident said.
It is reported that the officer lost an arm due to the attack. A local from Maungdaw town told the reporter on phone that it is still not known whether the victim will be sent to Maungdaw hospital or Sittwe hospital.

Maungdaw township is filled with many Bangladeshi Muslims who have been illegally infiltrated from the neighbouring over-populated Bangladesh. A recent Myanmar government's official release said Bangladeshi Muslims constitutes 97% of Maungdaw township's total population. The number of local Rakhine people have dramatically reduced during the past decade as many Rakhine people moved to the inner part of the state like Sittwe, Mrauk U, etc. in order to avoid organized abuses and harassments of the Muslim settlers.
"For many years, the government officials including administration and armed services in the area have been turning  a blind eye on all the crimes committed by illegal Muslim foreigners for they receive a large sum of bribe money whenever a criminal case is reported.", a civil engineer who works with township administration office said.
A couple of incidents in which Myanmar security personnels were attacked and robbed their guns by Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants have already reported in June and July this year.
