The policy of UNFC Top-ranking meeting

UNFC_e33A top-ranking meeting of the United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC), holding yesterday in Chiang Mai, in Thailand, had agreed on policy to the need of equal for every member, according to the delegate who has attended in the meeting.
“The equal policy is that there is not only the organization which the agreement with the ceasefire but also the organization which have no agreement with the ceasefire yet. That should not be happened. We need to be equal. Whether all members will reach a ceasefire to make political dialogue with the government or without ceasefire we all are supporting against the government that we have the agreement in policy,” said the delegate.   
There is the plan to meet the individual groups to lay down the decision of policy. This plan was the decision to reconsider the ceasefires if the government have not stopped offensive action to the Kachin State from the meeting of last June (10) by the appendix condition of the proclamation.
In today meeting they have analysed the condition of the battles happened in the area of the Kachin Independent Organization (KIO).  The UNFC will reanalyse on the government’s Panglong Conference that going to have in sometime and in the mean time, the government making ceasefire agreement with some organizations, some are launched military operation and the UNFC will reanalyse the objective and work plans of the union level peace committee.
In top-ranking meeting, the chair person, secretary from (11) members of UNFC and Chief of Staff from Army have attended and it might be taken for (4) days.
Pressident_-0977In UNFC members, the (5) organisations that have signed ceasefire agreements with the government are; Karen National Union (KNU), Chin National Front (CNF), New Mon State Party (NMSP), Shan State Army-North (SSA-N) and Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP). Some groups have met in initiative and some have not been offered yet by the government. Thus, the government have unfair attitude, it seems that have doubts on the ceasefire in the whole of country.
The members of UNFC are Chin National Front (CNF), Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP), Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP), Karen National Union (KNU), New Mon State Party (NMSP), Pa-O National Liberation Organisation (PNLO), Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF), Arakan National Council (ANC), Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), Wa National Organization (WNO) and Kachin National Organization (KNO). The United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC) was established at the ethnic nationalities conference from the 12-16 February in 2011.
The political goals of the UNFC are to build equality among nationalities and to establish the future federal union, fully with political independence in the states.
