Refugees need more aid in Paletwa Township
Categories :
Many Chin people have moved to Kaladan River bank in order to escape gun fights between Arakan Army (AA) and the Myanmar Army in Paletwa township. Khumi media reported that Pinso villagers in Paletwa township moved to the Indo-Myanmar border and Kaladan River bank because of gun fights in the last week of March and the first week of April in Paletwa. There are 64 houses (370 people) in Piso village.
A Khumi youth group has provided 28 bags of rice and 20 sheets of silpaulins to the refugees on 30 April 2015.
Although fighting between the Arakan Army and the Myanmar military has ceased, refugees are still afraid to go back to their village.
A Khumi elders group in Yangon established refugees’ aid committee (Yangon) on 2 May.
